
Rosemary Hamel is a retired New York City public school teacher who relocated to Long Island six years ago. She has always believed that one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is to perform an act of kindness for someone else. Joining the East Northport Rotary Club five years ago has allowed her to pursue this passion while connecting with new people, learning new things, and sharing meaningful experiences. Rosemary sees it as an opportunity to broaden her horizons by stepping outside her comfort zone, all while embracing the Rotary motto: "Here to Serve."
Rosemary serves as the direct liaison between the Rotary Club and the AWARE Drug & Alcohol Community Coalition. Previously the Club Secretary, she has volunteered to co-preside alongside Marie Failey for the 2025-2026 term. Passionate about community impact, she is proud to be part of an organization dedicated to positive change. Rosemary believes that everyone, regardless of age, has something special to offer, and she values Rotary's role in helping individuals discover their passions while contributing to a brighter future for all.

Marie taught high school English and history in Houston and at Ward Melville High School on Long Island, collaborating with a dynamic and creative team of educators. She became a member of the East Northport Rotary in 2007 after her daughter participated in a Rotary exchange program in Aix-les-Bains, France. Rotary has fostered meaningful friendships and opportunities for ongoing service in the East Northport community. Additionally, she plays percussion in the Coast Guard Auxiliary Band and serves on the advisory board for Northport High School's Academy of Finance.
Janeen Kush

Janeen Kush has been a proud member of the East Northport Rotary Club for the past four years. Passionate about giving back to her community, Janeen is actively involved in Rotary service projects and volunteering opportunities that make a meaningful impact.
This year marks Janeen ’s first term as Club Secretary, a role that reflects her dedication to Rotary and its mission of service above self. A lifelong Long Island resident, Janeen lives in East Northport with her family. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, and pet sitter, she brings both compassion and dedication into her professional and personal life. Rotary has also become a family tradition, as Janeen ’s daughter is now able to participate in The Interact Club, further extending her commitment to service.

Alexandra Camp is a passionate advocate in the fight against cancer, currently serving as a Senior Development Manager at the American Cancer Society. She plays a pivotal role in the Relay For Life initiative, dedicated to raising funds to help end cancer for everyone.
Her journey with Rotary began while she was Branch Manager at a bank in East Northport. Through Rotary, she found a natural way to connect with her community, gain support, and share ideas. This network has been instrumental in her personal and professional growth, offering numerous leadership opportunities that continue to benefit her today.
Alexandra proudly served as President of her Rotary club from 2021 to 2023 and is currently the Treasurer. In addition, she serves as President of the East Northport Chamber of Commerce, further strengthening her commitment to fostering local business growth and community engagement. She encourages everyone to consider joining Rotary, emphasizing that it’s an exceptional platform for developing leadership skills while making a positive impact in the local community.
Married for 40 years with two children and two grandchildren, Mark grew up in Elwood and graduated from Elwood/John H. Glenn High School in 1976. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Sciences from Dowling College in 1980.
He spent 20 years in the airline industry, beginning with World Airways for two years before joining KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for 18 years. Later, Mark pursued a passion for education, earning a Master of Science in Teaching Science from Dowling College in 2003. For the next two decades, he taught middle and high school science at Freeport Middle School, Harborfields Middle School, Elwood John Glenn High School, Elwood Middle School, and Bellport High School before retiring.
Mark's connection to Rotary runs deep—he was a Rotary Exchange Student in La Paz, Bolivia (1974-1975), sponsored by the East Northport Rotary Club, which he proudly joined in 2024. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid musician and saxophonist, performing with the Huntington Community Band (summer), North Shore Pops, Coast Guard Auxiliary Band, and the American Air Power Band.
Tara Flynn

Tara Flynn is a retired sales manager the tutoring and education world. Upon retirement she realized that she wanted to participate more in the East Northport community and started as a part-time administrator of the East Northport Chamber of Commerce in January, 2025. Tara connected with our East Northport Rotary club at a East Northport Chamber of Commerce meeting and joined our club the following week. She is passionate about serving and giving back to our community. She enjoys meeting new people and building relationships while having fun!
